About Us

Our Story

At Paws & Poppets, every illustrated work begins with a story. What started as a few silly doodles of a cat named Moo Moo soon became something much bigger. These drawings were a way to capture the funny expressions and spiciness that make our pets who they are. When Moo Moo sadly passed away, those little doodles became treasured memories that photographs alone couldn't quite capture.

That experience inspired the creation of Paws & Poppets. Today, we create customisable pet portraits & greeting cards designed to treasure little moments in life. Whether you're celebrating a birthday, marking a holiday, welcoming a new furry family member, or remembering a beloved compawnion, our illustration is crafted with love to treasure the human-animal bond.

Meet the Team

Sorya

Co‑Founder & Managing Director

Sorya leads the vision and strategic direction of Paws & Poppets, supported by a background in business and accounting that underpins the brand’s operational foundations.

Her work focuses on building practical, sustainable systems that attune to the realities of running an e-commerce.

Vivian

Illustrator

As a veterinary nurse, Vivian has spent years witnessing the extraordinary human-animal bonds. From joyful milestones to quiet farewell moments.

That connection is at the heart of Paws & Poppets. Her vision is simple: to help people share meaningful moments through thoughtful, hand-illustrated keepsakes that capture the unique personality of every pet.

Dusty

Meowketing Director

Dusty is Paws & Poppets' purrsonal meownager and meowketing director. As a rescued kitten, he was returned to the shelter because he had "too much energy" for his previous owners. This is a quality we now consider a job requirement for our moral support feline resident.

These days, Dusty channels that enthusiasm into supervising illustrations, meow-delling for reference sketches, and ensuring no creative session goes uninterrupted.

Proudly Made in Aotearoa

Paws & Poppets is a Kiwi‑owned e‑commerce brand built on local and ethical production. Our head office is based in Auckland, the City of Sails. We work closely with New Zealand businesses to help strengthen and uplift our communities.
